The RCNBF donates $50,000 to the National Naval Reserve Monument Revitalization Project

The RCNBF is proud to be a gold-level partner in revitalizing the National Naval Reserve Monument. Our backing of this initiative is a key component of the Fund’s mission to honour and support those who devote themselves to the service of Canada at sea.

Located in Ottawa, the monument was created in 1973 for the 50th anniversary of the Naval Reserve to honour those having served in this branch of the Royal Canadian Navy as part-time sailors. The RCNBF’s contribution will support the complete renovation of the monument and surrounding plaza to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Naval Reserve in 2023. These efforts ensure a safe, accessible, and appropriate gathering place to celebrate Canada’s Naval Reserve, and will be completed ahead of a re-dedication event in the fall.
